Mental health mentoring

Change Step works with Veterans NHS Wales to offer peer mentoring support to veterans who need therapy related to experiences during their time in service, or in adjusting to civilian life.

Supported by funding from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, the joined-up project helps veterans from North Wales prepare for their treatment, supports them through that treatment, and provides tailored practical guidance afterwards.

Innovative collaboration

The innovative collaboration sees our team of peer mentors work directly alongside specialist therapists to support former forces personnel who need treatment tailored to their military background.

“This collaboration means that the specialist psychological therapy that Veterans NHS Wales provides will now be supplemented with individual, personal support to help ensure that the benefits of this therapy are maintained over the longer term.”
